Heavy Chevy Stage Takes Shape with Massive Timber Construction

Construction on the Heavy Chevy Stage is moving forward at Muscle Car Ranch, where massive wood timbers are creating a permanent performance space designed to stand for generations.

The Heavy Chevy Stage frame uses 4-by-16, 20-foot wood timbers weighing about 500 pounds each.

Built with 500-pound timbers

The stage frame is built from 4-by-16 wood timbers stretching 20 feet, with each timber weighing about 500 pounds. Three-inch-thick material is being used throughout the build, including the stage floor.

Each connection is secured with redundant bolts, creating a solid structure with a weight and feel far beyond conventional stage construction. Curtis Hart expects the finished build to remain standing for more than 100 years.

More than a festival stage

The Heavy Chevy Stage is being developed as a permanent part of Muscle Car Ranch. Construction will continue after TwisterFest, with plans to add a cabin above the stage by Christmas.

The project blends the Ranch’s unmistakable character with heavy-duty craftsmanship built for decades of concerts, gatherings and special events.

Building a one-of-a-kind festival setting

TwisterFest does not happen in an ordinary venue. Muscle Car Ranch is part music destination, part automotive time capsule and part hand-built work of art. The latest photos show that same do-it-yourself spirit in action as Curtis and the crew prepare the outdoor spaces for festival weekend.

From daylight work to stages after dark

As the sun goes down, the Ranch begins to show the atmosphere festivalgoers know and love: rustic stages, neon signs, reclaimed materials and lights tucked into the landscape. These are not generic festival grounds. Every view carries a little piece of Muscle Car Ranch history.

Live pro wrestling returns Saturday

Along with two days of live music, TwisterFest 2026 brings live pro wrestling to Muscle Car Ranch on Saturday, September 26 at 5 PM. It is one more reason to spend the full weekend at the Ranch.

Building the Riverfront the Right Way

Out here at Muscle Car Ranch, progress never stops.

The riverfront dock structure continues to take shape with deep-set poles designed to handle rising water levels. These aren’t decorative posts. They’re engineered for strength, stability, and longevity.

Each pole is set deep, gravel tamped tight, built to withstand Oklahoma weather and river conditions.

Reclaimed Bridge Timbers With History

The framing includes reclaimed bridge timbers from a 1910 Red River bridge. Solid wood. Heavy beams. Real history.

Those same timbers now form the backbone of the river deck expansion. What once carried traffic across the Red River now supports gatherings, music, and community events.

It’s not just construction. It’s repurposed legacy.

From Framework to Event Space

From raw framing to full river views, the space continues to evolve.

The dock area has already hosted weddings, private gatherings, and evening events. With expanded framing and reinforced support, it’s being built for even more.

Every improvement strengthens the venue for TwisterFest and everything else hosted at Muscle Car Ranch year-round.

By day, it’s peaceful river views and open sky.

By evening, it transforms. String lights. Reflections on the water. Music drifting across the dock.

This is what makes TwisterFest special. It’s not just a stage. It’s a setting.

Why It Matters for TwisterFest

TwisterFest isn’t dropped into a random venue.

It’s hosted at a place that’s constantly being built, reinforced, and improved by hand.

Every pole set. Every beam placed. Every deck board secured.

That work is what you stand on when you come out for TwisterFest.

And the build continues.

Stay tuned for more updates from Muscle Car Ranch as preparations continue.

TwisterFest is more than an event. It’s part of something being built year-round.
